How F.A.C.T. Came To Be

Let me start by introducing myself.  My name is Julie Randecker and I started this business in May of 1999.  It all started when I joined a small fire department in May of 1991.  I had just finished my Emergency Medical training when the department asked if I would like to become a CPR Instructor for the department and then offer the public classes one Saturday a month.  I was hesitant at first because as I just said I had just finished class and to go back for more I didn’t know if I had it in me.  It was explained to me that the class to become an instructor was only a couple of days and then some observation classes that I had to teach.  I shortly agreed.

The public classes were a big hit in the beginning.  As the months went by fewer and fewer people would sign up.  I still got the calls from the people but as I found out the time or the day was not convenient for them.  But they still needed the classes.  That is when I came up with the idea to branch this business out.  I thought what if I came to them so they didn’t have to come to me.  That way they could schedule the date and time.  With that F.A.C.T. (First Aid, AED, CPR Training) was born.

I have been in the medical field since 1987 starting out as a nursing assistant in a nursing home.  This business is family owned and operated with my husband Jeff and my oldest daughter Amy helping with the training.  My two youngest daughters doing a lot of the answering of the phones seeing they were on it most of the time anyway.  Most of the time I got the messages.  They are now grown and have moved on and hopefully soon they will be helping with the training also.
The business is home based that way we can keep the cost down better than the other companies.  We try to add some of our experiences as well as some fun into every class.  People tell me they enjoy the class very much and they will call me when their time to renew comes up and I do have a lot if repeat customers.  We also have a lot of extra customers from people telling other people.  I know that we will not leave until EVERYONE is comfortable with his or her skills because as we well know when it happens to you it’s ALWAYS scary.

I enjoy teaching these classes for several reasons because it is a great way to meet new people and interesting people from all walks of life, as well as the more people that know basic First Aid and CPR I feel the safer my family and I am.  So that is the story of how F.A.C.T. came to be.  Always remember the life saved maybe someone you love!  Have a safe day.  If you would like to learn more or schedule a class please feel free to contact us either by e-mail info@factraining.com or phone (815) 337-8078.
